Conewago Trail

Location: Conewago Recreation Trail, Lancaster County, PA

Project Summary

The Conewago Trail, acquired by Lancaster County in 1979, is a five‐mile trail located between Route 230 and the Lebanon County line. The trail, which used to be the Cornwall‐Lebanon rail line, follows the Conestoga Creek through beautiful farmland, meadows and wooded areas. With the restored pathways, the Conewago Trail provides a level surface making it an ideal resource for walking, jogging, bicycling and horse‐back riding. This project, which was dedicated in September 2007, supports Lancaster County’s commitment to conserve greenways, including vacant railroad lines, allowing a safe and attractive environment for the public to utilize.
